A review by CEO Rainer Denndörfer
Crises (of the global economic kind) have been a constant companion of BD|SENSORS GmbH since the company was established about 26 years ago.
I explicitly pointed out this exact situation in my introductory speech at the works meeting in December of last year.
My conclusion was as clear as it was understandable:
The following facts emphasise that this is also going to remain the case in the future:
Not only did BD|SENSORS survive the 2020 Coronavirus crisis unscathed, but it has taken off in the first four months of 2021 to an extent that not even I expected, despite being a perpetual optimist.
• The sales revenue was 16.5% higher than planned, and even 5.6% higher than in the same period of the previous year. This is all the more remarkable, since the months from January to March 2020 had not yet been affected by the Coronavirus.
• There has also been a phenomenal increase in incoming orders. They were 22.4% ahead of budget, and 21.4% higher than the same period of the previous year.
Once again, BD|SENSORS has impressively demonstrated that it is one of the world’s most crisis-proof companies, and not just within its own industry.
Look towards the future:
The sales and incoming orders from Germany are very encouraging and somewhat unexpectedly remained almost constant over the entire Coronavirus period from April 2020 to April 2021. However, the most notable increases have clearly come from the growth markets of China and the USA.
I therefore regard this as confirmation of my medium-term strategic plan to focus on expanding the subsidiary in China and setting up a sales office in the USA in the next few years, without neglecting Germany as a location.
Conclusion:
Both the owners and employees of BD|SENSORS can look to the future in a confident and optimistic way, regardless of the crises that may await us.
